* Background:
Listening is a form of spiritual hospitality by which you invite strangers to become friends, to get to know their inner selves more fully, and even to dare to be silent with you. (Henri Nouwen) Spiritual care begins with deep listening, to the other, to oneself, and to the divine. This workshop will explore the practice of nondirective listening and spiritual companioning. Grounded in contemplative orientation, we will engage practices from Christian and Buddhist traditions as resources for practitioners in the campus ministry contexts.
